Jumping through hoops

A couple of US photographers have been trying to adopt a Nepalese baby, and finally completed the adoption process after two and a half years. They recently flew out to take their baby daughter home – only to be told that the approval process had recently changed and they may have to leave her in Nepal to grow up as an orphan. All this after a week holding the baby, bonding with her, and with her getting to know them.

Imagine being told you had to leave your baby in the hospital after he/she was born. And this is a one year old, so she will be much more aware of what’s going on. It’s a horrific situation, and while I can’t imagine what it’s like, I really hope they can get things sorted out before they have to leave Nepal.

If you’re a US citizen, you can help by going to the Taufer’s page here and sending the message there to your senator or congress representative.
