A few weeks after one of my weddings this year, I received a surprise in the post – a gift voucher for high tea at the Dorchester, one of those iconic Park Lane hotels whose afternoon tea is reputed to be the best in London. Amazingly, touchingly and completely unnecessarily, it turned out to be a thank-you gift from Tabitha, one of my brides.
Jenny and I decided that we would make this our first grown up afternoon out following the birth of our baby, and today was the day. I just wanted to say thanks to Tab for a fantastic experience. I am sitting here stuffed to the gills with sandwiches, scones, pastries, champagne and some rather lovely Indian Nimbu tea. The setting is utterly opulent, the service is superb, and we both thoroughly recommend it as a break from real life with a 16-week old!
